Different Service Providers In USA..

There are different Service providers in USA like AT&T, Verizon , T-Mobile, Sprint, Virgin ans some prepaid fone service companies like Boost Mobile, AT&T Go-Phone Service, etc..

So based on the phone service providers they offer different services.

Like I use the AT&T service the network coverage is Good and the best part is that the At&T previously Cingular used to offer the RollOver Minutes for the plan we take.

The concept of RollOver comes very handy as we may not use up the entire minutes in a particular month and in some months we may over use them. When we do not use up the entire quota the rest of the minutes are added for the next month's quota..
So if we overuse that months the last months roll over would be come handy..

And Sprint Mobile offers Night minutes from 7:00pm onwards. So some may be interested in that deal as other service providers offer it from 9:00pm.

Isnt that great, so you may select from various services like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint , etc...

GSM and CDMA Cell Phones!!!

The major technologies in the market today have their own differences.

1)The major difference being the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards.

The GSM phones use this SIM Cards technology that gives the customer to easily flip or change or exchange or upgrade his existing cell phone.
Whereas the CDMA technology doesnt support this technology.

2)The second being the rate of data being transfered using these technologies..

The GSM phones are using the EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM) Technology along with the latest additions of UMTS (Universal Mobile Telephone Standard) and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) thus the combined effect can raise the data transfer to speeds about 300 - 400 kbps (kilo bits per second)..

While the CDMA phones use the EVDO Technology for the data transfer access to the customers providing very high rate of data access similar to that of a DSL cable. But the only major point of concern comes when the service can only be accessed on a CDMA phone having this Technology pre loaded..

So the debate still lies which is the best technology. but they have their own advantages and flaws.

Another difference in Cell Phones Technologies !!!

There are two technologies that are widely used by the service providers in North America and in the rest of the world.

1) Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM)
2) Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)

These are the two technologies that are widely used in the market and the major service providers like ATT, Verizon wireless, nextel, t-mobile, sprint, sprint pcs, alltel, virgin mobiles use any one of these technologies along with their cell phones

Both of these technologies are equipped with the latest 3G technology.

We will see the major differences of these technologies in my next post.

Locked and Unlocked Cell Phones!!

Welcome Back readers!!!

We will first discuss about the locked and unlocked version of a cell phone now.

A locked cell phone is the one which comes with a certain plan with it. The Locked Cell Phones are the ones where we purchase it from certain service providers like.. ATT, Verizon wireless,  nextel, tmobile, t-mobile, sprint, sprint pcs, alltel, Virgin Mobile services.

An unlocked cell phone is the one which is purchased in the market. Using this mobile, we can opt for any service plans dat are from ATT,  Verizon wireless,  nextel, tmobile, t-mobile, sprint, sprint pcs, alltel, Virgin Mobile services. The service providers mention the usage terms of their service and the authorised cell phones that can use their services.

So this is the basic difference between a locked cell phone and an unlocked cell phone..
